U.S. Marshal Salary

New U.S. Marshals usually earn pay corresponding to the federal GS-5 pay grade, which means they'll be earning $30,000 and $40,000 a year just out of the gate. U.S. Marshals beginning at a GS-7 level can make anywhere from $33,000 to $48,000 a year. Marshals that have been in the business for several years and have risen to supervisory positions can make up to $100,000 a year. The U.S. Department Labor Statistics, Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that demand for U.S. Marshals will increase as domestic security is a major concern for America. Because of job competition, applicants need to take steps to separate themselves from the competition. Earning a bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e. criminal justice, law enforcement, sociology) is recommended.
