Online Biotechnology Degrees

Biotechnologists develop technology and conduct research intended to improve medical procedures and develop new products. In other words, biotechnologists utilize their knowledge and skills for practical, rather than theoretical purposes. For example, biotechnologists are heavily involved with the Human Genome Project, a project that was initiated to better understand human genetics.

Earning a certificate in biotechnology can qualify one for research or laboratory technician jobs. Many entry-level research specialist jobs can be obtained after earning an associate's degree. Those interested in university level teaching and research positions must complete a doctorate degree program.
