Alabama Southern Community College
Alabama Southern Community College was established in 1991 through the merger of Hobson State Technical College and Patrick Henry Junior College. The college's main campus is located in Monroeville and is home to the popular Kathryn Tucker Windham Museum. In addition to the main campus, two learning locations in Jackson and Gilbertown also service the education and career training needs of its students.Alabama Southern offers academic and career-oriented undergraduate degrees in several disciplines, including Liberal Arts and Sciences, Personal and Culinary Services, Business Management and Marketing, Engineering, Mechanic and Repair Technologies and Security and Protective Services, to name just a few.
Alabama Southern Community College currently offers a few online learning and distance education options for students who desire to complete their degree remotely. However, most programs at the college are not offered entirely online via internet enable distance education.
The school has earned full accreditation by the Southern Association of College and Schools (SASC). This allows Alabama Southern to offer accredited associate degrees in Arts, Applied Sciences and Science that can be transferred to a four-year college or university.
