Amridge University
An affiliated institution of the Churches of Christ, Amridge University is a fully-accredited private university located in Montgomery, Alabama. This non-profit, coeducational school has gone through many name changes throughout its history. It has been called Southern Christian University, Alabama Christian School of Religion or Regions University.Amridge was established in 1967 as a Christian training school of theology. Ministers and missionaries seeking to become Christian Counselors and/or Bible Ministers would often seek their education at Amridge. The university has since expanded its academic offerings and even offers some classes online.
Degrees at Amridge University are offered through one of five academic colleges and schools. These include the Turner School of Theology, School of Human Services, School of Continuing Ed, College of Business & Leadership as well as College of General Studies.
The university is regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate (A.A/A.S.), bachelor’s (B.A./B.S.), master's (M.S.), Master of Divinity and PhD degrees. The university is currently seeking accreditation through the Commission on Accrediting of the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) in the U.S. and Canada.
