Concordia College-Selma
Concordia College is a privately owned and operated higher education institution located in Selma, Alabama. It is affiliated with the Lutheran Church and belongs to the Missouri Synod’s Concordia University System. It is a historically black college, and the only historically black college in the Concordia University System (Missouri Synod).Competing in the U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association, Concordia’s athletic program (the Hornets) has much to offer of those who are interested in intercollegiate and intramural sports. Men can choose to play soccer, baseball, football and basketball. While women’s athletics include soccer, golf, volleyball, track and softball.
The college offers several student support services including academic tutoring, career placement and a women's center. There a 24-hour food and vehicle patrol on campus and all pathways are lit, so students are safe and secure. All dormitories required key or security card access. The acceptance rate at Concordia is roughly 32 percent and it has a rolling application deadline. All academic programs are campus-based and the college currently does not offer distance learning online degree programs.
