Excelsior College
Excelsior College is a regionally accredited virtual institution of higher learning based in Albany, New York. A non-profit, private college, Excelsior College offers online degrees at graduate and undergraduate levels. The college is divided into five distinct schools: the School of Health Sciences, the School of Nursing, the School of Business and Technology, the School of Public Service, and the School of Liberal Arts.Excelsior College does not limit the number of allowable transfer credits for incoming students, a practice quite different from the majority of colleges. At Excelsior College, students can earn credits not only from the college's own courses and programs, but also from non-collegiate training (such as training from government agencies, corporations, or the military), an assessment of a prior learning portfolio, courses at other accredited institutions, and college-level exams (such as the DSST/DANTES and CLEP exams). Excelsior College's own exams, ECEs, are similar to DSST and CLEP exams, and are accepted by institutions throughout the nation.
Excelsior College is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
