George Corley Wallace State Community College
George Corley Wallace State Community College (more commonly known as Wallace Community College Selma, or WCCS) is a community college with a total annual enrollment of approximately 2,000 students. Located in Selma, Alabama, WCCS is a member of the Alabama Community College Conference of the National Junior College Athletic Association. Some of the more popular sports at WCCS include basketball and baseball. WCCS was established in 1963.WCCS offers academic trans programs (AA and AS degrees) as well as the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree designed to prepare students for entry-level jobs and career positions upon graduation. Upon completing an AA or AS degree students can transfer to a four-year college and apply their credits towards a bachelor's degree. Areas of study at WCCS include Business Administaion, Computer Science, Liberal Arts, Music, Nursing, Mathematics, Psychology and Sociology, among others. AAS degrees are available in many career-oriented disciplines and technical trades.
Through its eLearning division, students are able to compliment their campus based study with online study that can be performed remotely. This distance education options makes earning a degree more convenience for busy students and working adults.
