Marist College

Located in Poughkeepsie, New York, Marist College is a private liberal arts institution which enrolls about 4,500 students in any given semester. Marist College offers more than 60 bachelor's and master's degrees, as well as 20 certification courses. Students may pursue these degrees or certificates via traditional classroom instruction, or via online schooling.

In addition to its main campus in New York, Marist maintains a branch campus in Florence, Italy, and 26 study sites in countries throughout the world, including Australia, China, Italy, Egypt, and England. Marist College also owns and operates the Raymond A. Rich Institute for Leadership Development, located in Esopus, New York.

Marist is consistently ranked among the top schools in its region, and in the nation, by several publications. The Princeton Review has listed Marist among its choices for "The Best 373 Colleges" in the country for ten years in a row. U.S. News and World Report ranked Marist #8 on its list of "America's Best Colleges," in the category of Regional Universities (North). With an acceptance rate of only 33.7 percent, Marist is also one of the most selective schools in the Northern region of the United States.

Marist College offers a number of study abroad programs, which are highly popular among the student body. In fact, Marist's study abroad program is ranked as the 5th Most Popular Study Abroad Program in the country by The Princeton Review. These short-term programs involve a 2- or 3-week long trip to a foreign country, during which time students complete a 3- or 4-credit hour class. For example, Marist's Technology Management class traveled to China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong; the Dubliners and the Literature of Ireland class traveled to Ireland; and the Politics, Community Development, and Entrepreneurship class traveled to Ghana.

Marist College Online Learning Programs
From the Hudson Valley to San Francisco, students from around the nation and the world can now participate in online degree and distance learning opportunities available through Marist College. Online degrees and courses at Marist are offered through iLearn, a collaborative online learning system that provides students a suite of web-based communication, management and learning tools that facilitate between students, their peers and professors.

Marist College currently offers distance learning undergraduate degrees in liberal studies. Distance learning graduate programs include master's degrees in integrated marketing communications, business administration, educational psychology, public administration, information systems, and technology management. Graduate certificates are offered in information systems.
