Miles College
Miles College was established in 1898 as an all-black college. It is locate in Fairfield, Alabama and is affiliated with the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. It is a private liberal arts school and a member of the United Negro College Fund.Students who attend Miles College are able able to select a major from one of almost 30 degree programs within one the following fields of study: Education, Communications, Natural Sciences, Business, Criminal Justice, Mathematics, Accounting and Humanities. Miles is one of less than 20 colleges in the United States to have a Center of Academic Excellence under the direction of the Director of National Intelligence.
In addition to its academic offering, Miles offers several clubs/organizations for students and an athletics program. Student organizations include religious and academic clubs, a gospel and concert choir, student government, an honors program as well as the National Pan-Hellenic Council, to name just a few. Athletic programs include football, track and field, basketball, volleyball, softball, baseball and cross country.
Miles College is regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award bachelor's degrees. Currently, Miles College does not offer online degrees, courses or distance learning programs for non-traditional students. All degrees and courses must be completed through regular classroom attendance.
