San Diego Culinary Institute
San Diego Culinary Institute is a Culinary Arts school that offers programs in Cuisine and Pastry. The institute offers very small class sizes, and a mentorship. Hands-on training is important for students to learn the proper techniques and skills needed for success. The majority of class work is done in the kitchen giving students the time and opportunity to master the proper techniques. This teaching method is called the Commis Culinary Method. The idea behind the method is to guide students through a certain logical series of courses and to make sure each student prepares food every day. The top culinary educators of the country agree that this is the best method of teaching culinary arts. The institute offers 220 hour externships.
