United States Sports Academy
This sports-specific university hosts its campus in Daphne, Alabama. The Academy provides opportunities to complete bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate and certificate programs that focus on various areas of study. The United States Sports Academy is a unique educational resource used by students from more than 60 countries to improve coaching in the areas of research, instruction and service.The American Sports Art Museum and Archives (ASAMA) holds a prominent place on campus since it was founded in 1984. The Museum holds more than 1,000 pieces of sports art from many of the world’s foremost artists. There is also an outdoor Sculpture Park in development, an area that celebrates sports by the erection of all kinds of sculptures.
The academy sponsors an awards program, a tribute to “The Artists and the Athlete,” is a series that honors sports figures for their achievements. The athletes are honored in areas such as fitness, humanitarian activities, media and performance.
