University of Bridgeport
The University of Bridgeport (UB) is a private, regionally accredited university in Bridgeport, Connecticut. It is the 11th most racially diverse university in the United States, according to U.S. News & World Report. UB students come from 46 United States and over 80 countries throughout the world. The university is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, as well as by the Board of Governors of the Connecticut Department of Higher Education.Incoming UB freshmen have an average SAT score of 1000 (Verbal and Math), and an average high school GPA of 2.8. The vast majority of students (80%) go on to earn a master's degree.
The University of Bridgeport offers a wide range of degree programs at all levels (associate's through doctoral). Students can pursue Associate's degrees in such areas as Dental Hygiene and Business Administration, or Bachelor's degrees (B.S., B.A., or B.F.A.) in such areas as International Business, Psychology, Computer Science, Music, Accounting, Graphic Design, Computer Engineering, and Biology. At the graduate level, UB offers Master's degree and Doctoral programs in such areas as Naturopathic Medicine, Counseling, Education, and Electrical Engineering. All together UB offers 125 different programs at their main campus and at their Waterbury and Stamford branch campuses.
U.S. News & World Report ranks UB's Online Graduate Computer Information Technology program as the 4th best in the nation. The online bachelor's degree program was ranked 12th best in the nation in the same publication. U.S. News & World Report also ranked UB's Online Master in Engineering program at #16 in the nation.
Like some many higher education institution, University of Bridgeport now offers many of its degrees online. Students at Bridgeport can earn an undergraduate or graduate degree entirely online via the university's online distance learning program. At the undergraduate level, online degrees are available in healthcare administration, human resource administration, organizational leadership, dental hygiene and general studies. At the graduate level, online degrees are available in Global Development and Peace, Business Administration, Human Nutrition, Dental Hygiene, Computer Science and Technology Management. University of Bridgeport also offers blended degrees, that combine campus-based learning with online study.
