University of Mobile
The University of Mobile is affiliated with the Baptist Church and located in Pritchard, Alabama. The enrollment at the University of Mobile is around 1,600 students per year, which come from over 30 U.S. states and 24 foreign countries. However, the majority of students are from the Mobile area and surrounding states. Just under half of the student at University of Mobile live on campus. Many students are members of the Southern Baptist Church.University of Mobile comprises six academic schools and colleges which include the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business, School of Christian Studies, School of Education, School of Nursing, and Center of Performing Arts. Through these six schools the University of Mobile grants accredited bachelor's and master's degrees.
University of Mobile now offers online degrees and distance learning programs for non-traditional and traditional students alike. Online degrees are currently offered at the bachelor's degree level. The most recent addition to the online degrees the university offers is the Bachelor of Science in Marketplace Ministry.
When it was first established Mobile College was a commuter college. Its first on campus dormitories were Arendall and Bedsole Hall. Housing cottages were soon added providing additional on campus housing for students. Ingram Hall, the school's fourth residency hall, was added a few year later. Students now have the option of living on campus or they can commute if they prefer.
The athletic teams at the University of Mobile compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and are collectively known as the Rams. Men’s sports include soccer, tennis, cross country, golf, basketball and baseball. For the women, volleyball, golf, cross country, basketball, softball and tennis are offered.
University of Mobile is regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) to award undergraduate and graduate degrees.
