Waldorf College
Waldorf College is a liberal arts college located in Forest City, Iowa, offering programs in business, education, history, music, theatre arts, biology, communications, creative writing, English, humanities, psychology, and wellness. Students can pursue degrees in business management, health care management, occupational safety, criminal justice administration, organizational leadership, and fire science administration entirely online.Waldorf College is one of the few institution in the United States to offer an undergraduate program in Shakespeare studies. Students who minor in Shakespeare, and who perform satisfactorily, have the opportunity to continue onto graduate-level work at the American Shakespeare Center and the Mary Baldwin College.
Waldorf College also offers several online degree and online certificate programs. Waldorf offers various Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Applied Science and Master of Arts degrees entirely online. Online degrees are offered in criminal justice, health care management, communications, homeland security, occupational safety, psychology, business administration and organizational leadership, among others. Online certificates are offered in eleven disciplines.
Waldorf College's communications program is highly lauded. Students of this program receive intensive training in newspaper journalism, radio, television, web design, and public relations. The college is home to two student-managed broadcast stations, KZOW-FM and WAL-TV, which were among the first facilities in the nation to use only digital media.
The college is also home to one of the region's oldest a cappella choirs, the Waldorf Choir. The choir tours every year, domestically and abroad.
Waldorf College is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) through the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
